THE PEGASUS AND THE CLOUD CASTLE

Adya Mohanty

One million years ago, in the sky, there was a WHOLE mysterious and magical kingdom. The Misty forest is the gateway to the sky. In the sky, you don't have to worry about intruders barging into the kingdom because you won't even see a thing! The whole kingdom was magically invisible to non-magical people.

The kingdom was ruled by a queen named Perla. Perla was always a curious girl. She became queen when she just turned four. She used to hang out at the fountain in the garden. She loved the garden. The garden was huge and magnificent!

One day, when Perla was exploring the garden, she stumbled across the Misty Forest. She had successfully navigated a grass maze. No royal had ever stumbled across the Misty Forest before, so she decided to explore it. She saw this weird willow tree just standing there, in the corner. She also saw this bat hanging from the corner. She touched the tree and she fell from the ground into the Earth below.

Perla screamed as she fell. She fell very slowly or the hole was very deep. She suddenly fell on a pile of leaves and plants. She miraculously wasn't hurt and then she got up. She looked around and she saw this random Rocketship there. She wanted to explore it. She saw this red button and decided to press it. She pressed it and then POOF.. she was gone! Perla was in space!!

Meanwhile, in space, there is a Pegasus whose name was Star. Pegasus are horses with wings! This Pegasus eats a lot of stardust and sun rays. She needed to survive with those.

The king of space, Steve was a MEANIE!!! Star hated Steve because he was annoying and a V.I.L.L.A.I.N! Steve killed a whole alien planet. Star wanted to get out of space to escape Steve.

One day, Steve threw Star into the dungeon because she hated him. Star never does what Steve asks. So Steve dropped her to the Cloud Castle and he threw a knife to cut Star's wings. But Steve missed Star and so Star threw a fireball bac. Steve was bleeding.

Then Perla zoomed up from the moon and threw five knives and Steve screamed. He was bleeding a LOT! Perla was trapped in the cage. Then Star threw Dynamite at the cage and it exploded. Star saved Perla and they flew away. They felt happy. But Steve died.

MY PAINTING

Juan Lenju

I  am Juan Lenju, brother  of Julian Lenju. I am in the fourth grade at Dawn International  School. I am nine years old, kind and friendly, and looking out for adventures. I like making new friends, swimming, playing football and drawing. I sketch very fast and most of my drawings end up like cartoons. That is what my grandma says. I am happy helping others and animals and even insects. I like learning new things and even languages. I communicate in Hindi with my sibling, which only we understand. Sometimes, I create on-the-spot short stories and recite them to the amazement of my granny, who says it is spoken word poetry. My aim, now is to become a footballer. I also like to make people around me laugh and smile.  I like being called Dany, which is my pet name.

THE LONG RUN

Anura Parida

People do not always have to be bold,
Some say they are some unbreakable gold.
While others break down as soon as they are told,
Maybe not always but your emotions, like a neat napkin somehow unfolds.

You are always in the long run,
Getting ahead to win, sounds fun.
But when your foot slightly slips,
The murmur of people, more than your fall, sound passes their lips.

Yes, your opponent might jump up and dance,
Not caring about you as they advance.
But not always will they be winning to prance,
It is humanism to help even when winning is a chance.

Not everyone will leave you,
There will be some to help you.
And do the right thing, if they knew,
There are people with a golden heart so true.

You couldn’t make it to the finish line, true,
But you should be grateful there was someone to help you.
You will be discouraged, praises will be few,
But you, yourself struggled, the struggle you knew.

Maybe when you look back and think,
Guilt will be a heavy cloud.
Which your heart secretly seeps, your guilt now allowed,
You would have won, now, you thought around.

Emotions suppressed, wounds covered,
Your thoughts, very different from your face.
Your thoughts wild, the pain alive,
You think sadly about that phase.

You are not alone; remember that,
Thousands have passed that very phase.
Your face will be elongated with disappointment, true,
But shine a smile, for you have parents to comfort you.

END OF AN ERA

Trishna Sahoo

The bell rings, examinations came to an end ,
Now comes the fun, after the tensions we underwent.

We laugh and giggle, with all our might,
We danced and hugged each other tight.

We will miss our friends, the ones so dear,
The memories of the past , years after years.

The classroom jokes, the teachers' smiles,
The euphoria enjoyed in so special styles .

Now, the empty desks and dormant rows,
Where laughter bloomed not long ago .

The walls without a piece of posters ,
As if a ghost house mourns and stares.

NOW THE NEW BEGINNING

An exciting thrill, a nervous chime ,
Suddenly starts the class nine .

New subjects wait with tougher tests,
Larger platform and unknown guests.

It's a challenge we are destined to face,
With more vigor and hidden quests .

We will march ahead, aiming miles to go .
We will never look back, since we have to grow.

We have many more things to be told ,
To bring a complete change, just behold.

COLORS OF JOY – A HOLI SONG

Ankit Sahoo

(Verse 1)
The sun is shining, the sky is bright,
Holi is here, let’s paint the light.
Red and blue, yellow so high,
Colors of love fill up the sky.

(Chorus)
Throw the colors, dance and sing,
Feel the magic Holi brings.
Laugh and cheer, let’s unite,
Hearts are glowing, shining bright!

(Verse 2)
Water splashes, music plays,
Happiness in every way.
Sweet gujiyas, love so true,
Holi brings the best in you!

(Bridge)
Forget the past, let’s start new,
Hold my hand, I'll color you.
In this festival of delight,
Let’s spread joy, make it right!

(Chorus – Repeat)
Throw the colors, dance and sing,
Feel the magic Holi brings.
Laugh and cheer, let’s unite,
Hearts are glowing, shining bright!

(Outro)
Holi Holi, a time to shine,
Celebrate this love divine.
Sing and dance, feel so free,
Holi’s here for you and me!

Happy Holi! ... To all the readers of Literary vibes

THE WISE OLD OWL

Ankit Sahoo

In a peaceful village surrounded by lush green forests, there lived an old owl named Chiku. He was known for his wisdom, and er the villagers faced a problem, they would come to him for advice.

One day, a young boy named Rohan was playing near a river when he found a small injured bird. The bird had a broken wing and was struggling to fly. Feeling pity for it, Rohan took the bird home and cared for it with love.

Days passed, and the bird slowly healed. Rohan had grown attached to it and didn’t want to let it go. He built a small cage and decided to keep it forever.

Hearing about this, the wise owl Chiku called Rohan and said, "My dear boy, imagine if someone locked you inside a room forever. Would you be happy?"

Rohan thought for a moment and shook his head. "No, I would feel trapped and sad."

Chiku smiled and said, "Then why do you want to trap the bird? True love means setting others free, not keeping them for ourselves."

Rohan realized his mistake. With a heavy heart but a bright smile, he opened the cage and let the bird fly away. The bird chirped happily and soared into the sky. Rohan felt a deep joy in his heart, knowing he had done the right thing.

Moral of the Story:
True love and kindness mean giving freedom, not possession. Helping others should come with the willingness to let them live their own life.
