DAWN

Anura Parida

At the break of Dawn,

I walk down a path behind the lawn.

Florets blooming away,

As if asking me to stay.

Rows and Rows of flowers, they sway,

Some bumping, some swinging away.

Humming birds hum along the way,

Though my tune they flutter their way.

In my hand I swing a basket,

To collect a floret in my open casket.

And to start my day anew,

I pick up a floret for something new.

As the first ray of sunshine,

Hits a floret making it look elegantly fine.

From every opening leaf dew drops,

At every drop time slows and stops.

I fill my baskets with all the florets, I see,

Butterflies hover over my basket with glee.

Bees fill honey and then gently flee,

I treasure this moment with nature and me.

Slowly my basket is fully filled,

In my mind florets and memories lived.

Scent of my scented flowers is left with the wind,

As I tuck the flowers amplifying the wind.

The beauty of the florets beautifies the basket I hold,

I looked at my basket as I strolled.

Wishing all the florets to settle I behold,

I wished it all silently, my wish… untold.

I am Anura Parida, a 12-year-old creative writer currently studying in the 7th grade. Ever since I can remember, words have been my closest companions, and poetry has become my heartfelt expression.

Through my writing, I explore the tapestry of emotions that color my world – from the joy of friendship to the contemplation of life's mysteries.

Besides being a writer, I am an avid reader, devouring classics and contemporary literature alike, which helps me expand my creative horizons. Art, in all its forms, holds a special place in my heart, and I enjoy sketching and painting to complement my poetic musings. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing this beautiful world of creative writing with you all!

PUZZLE  PIECES

Trishna Sahoo

Life is a Jigsaw puzzle, very much deceptive.

It looks so easy but at times more disruptive.

Sometimes it's tough, sometimes it's simple.

Sometimes it brings tears and sometimes smile.

Sometimes you find your way, sometimes you miss.

Sometimes you land in a desert and sometimes in an oasis.

You never know where will you fit ?

But God has a plan, it may give a twist.

A few puzzle pieces might appear small.

But it may be the hardest and toughest of all.

Life is a basket, full of puzzles.

Enjoy your life by crossing all the hurdles.

Sea without waves and roads without hurdles,

Life is not life without puzzles .
