Title : HERITAGE (Picture courtesy Ms. Ishanvi Behera)

Ishanvi Behera, a student of 9th standard in DAV public school, Burla, Sambalpur, has a habit of looking and doing things in  an artistic way. A voracious reader, she is very much dedicated to her studies. At the same time she loves drawing and painting so much that she gets really mad if she doesn't have time for painting for a few days  and gets relief only after completion of a painting.

SMILE

Anura Parida

Smile is something you can do too,

Smile can make you go healthy from the blue.

Smile opens a closed bud in your heart,

Smile it away! Then only will you know the value of this art.

Smile can be the reason for their gaiety over their frown,

Smile gives everyone a blissful crown.

Smile can give the key to elation to all you are around,

Smile while giving a hand to raise them from the down.

Smile when you discern raindrops beat,

Smile when a floret blossom gives your eyes a treat.

Smile when the grass ticking at your feet sway,

Smile while hearing the birds chirping away.

Smile isn’t hard to show,

Smile doesn’t spend money, you know.

Smile can bloom a floret in a rock, it will so

Smile can change the vigorous waves flat, also,

Smile is a gesture that should not be faked though…

I am Anura Parida, a 12-year-old creative writer currently studying in the 7th grade. Ever since I can remember, words have been my closest companions, and poetry has become my heartfelt expression.

Through my writing, I explore the tapestry of emotions that color my world – from the joy of friendship to the contemplation of life's mysteries.

Besides being a writer, I am an avid reader, devouring classics and contemporary literature alike, which helps me expand my creative horizons. Art, in all its forms, holds a special place in my heart, and I enjoy sketching and painting to complement my poetic musings. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing this beautiful world of creative writing with you all!

LAST DAY OF CLASS VII

Trishna Sahoo

Last day of class VII is here,

How fast days passed, I was not sure .

It feels like just yesterday,

When we all were running down the hall way.

We became friends so soon for ever,

We are there for each other and everywhere.

Tears, laughters , emotions and smiles ,

The memories we are carrying in piles.

Jumping, hugging and screaming in joy ,

The last day of school,  for us to enjoy.

So many days we have passed together,

The bond of friendship has grown stronger and stronger.

The days of class VII will end,

We have to say goodbye to our teachers and friends.

Who knows, we will meet again in one section ,

In the same environment and with the same relation ?

First time we saw our teachers, hiding their emotions,

Presenting us invaluable gifts as a token of love and affection.

We all the children of class seven,

Hugged them with love, respect and emotion.

Pray for our student-teacher relationship to remain,

Evergreen as long as the universe sustains.
