‘Rejuvenate people’s life ‘is the key mantra of this centre. That itself is the way to the success of this clinic. Smt. Sabitha, a common woman & a Panchakarma therapist, started this clinic during April 2018. Her father was a paralysis patient. As part of this treatment, she had visited several Ayurveda healthcare centres including famous ‘Kottakkal Arya Vaidyashala’. As regular clinic visit is very expensive and difficulty, she planned to start a non-expensive clinic for common people. As she was trained in Panchakarma course, that was a plus point to start this clinic. That itself was her motivation to start this healthcare.
Initial investment for starting this clinic was Rs. 1.5 lakhs. As she had not much amount to invest, she had to find other ways including availing bank loan. At that time, she happened to know about Kudumbashree NHGs (Neighbourhood Groups) via Smt. Sarojini, a Kudumbashree member. Then she joined in a Kudumbashree neighbourhood group. She prepared & submitted project report to the respective CDS (Community Development Society) for getting loan with the help of Geetha, a micro enterprise consultant. She availed an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs as loan from CDS for setting up this clinic. Later then, the renovated clinic was established during November 2017. This was a turning point of this clinic to achieve success. Guidance form CDS chairperson Smt. Jameela was really helpful for them to achieve success. Her family comprises of her father, husband and one daughter. They had extended a very strong support and that itself is the main reason to the success of her enterprise.
Many challenges were faced regularly in the field of Ayurveda service providers. Several non-approved clinics were also started in this sector. As this clinic is part of Kudumbashree Mission, common people began trusting this clinic from its starting period itself. A total of four staffs are working in this clinic including Dr. Sharanya, BAMS and Dr Vijayan, BAMS, Visiting consultant.
Mouth publicity is one of the key factors to avoid challenges from other start up Ayurveda clinics near to this healthcare unit. A leading Malayalam newspaper had given the advertisement of this clinic recently.
The happiest moment for them after starting this clinic, is that Smt. Sabitha’s father has been recovered from paralysis. Her main aim is to recover common people from diseases through ‘Panchakarma’ therapy. Their future plan was to hire a new building at town and increase the treatment facilities. They also plan to develop the existing small garden for medicinal plants to higher level.
Smt. Sabitha can better be considered as an epitome of self-confidence and will power. She did the right thing in the right time with the help, assistance and support of Kudumbashree Mission and that had made all the difference, not only in her life, but also in the life of many people living around her. Sabitha had proved that any woman can be a super woman if she believes in herself and act according to!
