MY NEW HOBBY :SWIMMING
When I see the beach
I am waiting to reach
It is also a wonderful view of the sky
We can see the birds going to fly.
I am going to reach the threatening wave
To show everyone I am brave
We can see the horse ride
I am going to walk on the beach side

The morning is dazzling that you might need your sunglasses. I am on my way to the temple. Loads of people are heading towards the temple all in traditional wear and thalis in their hands. Why so devoted you ask? Well, it’s an auspicious and lively day as it’s Mahashivratri! It is a Hindu festival where we Hindus consider that on this day lord shiva and goddess Parvati were married. I was standing in a massive line waiting to go inside to see the beautiful idol of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati.
As I was waiting, looking here and there I saw people doing their rituals by praying on their knees or by standing and some who were big devotees lay on their stomachs by joining their hands. Some people were bargaining at a flower shop in the temple and were making a fuss. Then my eyes travelled to the people a bit outside of the temple, beggars were begging and people were handing them money or food.
Then something strange caught my eyes, a mouse as big as a baby rabbit, hurried towards a milk packet laying on the floor and carried it to a hole in the ground. At first, I thought it was just clearing its way, which I thought was a bit weird, as mice usually do not think that much. However, the thing that shocked me the most was to see it coming back repeatedly for the milk packet until half of the temple was clear and only soft, colourful flowers lay on the floor. I was quite pleased to see a mouse do such impressive work that we humans rarely care about. It really touched me that such a small creature is looking after our welfare. But we, instead of supporting it record videos and post in over the internet just to get likes and good comments or sometimes we don’t even bother about them or even worse consider them as living beings! We, humans, have created so much pollution and harm only for the sake of progress, which now even the ones who cannot understand our language have begun to understand by our actions that if this continues life on earth will end. Even though it is very small, it has taken a big step for humanity.
At this point, I was reminded of a story that was once told by my mother, which was a part of Ramayana. During which the construction of the Ram Setu was happening, in which a squirrel too wanted to contribute to the construction. So, it rolled in the sand and wriggled to let down all the sand in its body at the place where the rocks were placed and lord Ram was quite pleased with its contributions. Now, look what its little contribution turned out to be. A huge bridge stretching from south India to Sri Lanka!
This single mouse totally changed my point of view. Without wasting a single minute, I broke the line I was standing in and helped the little one in its noble gesture of humanity. I think we should learn from this little friend to know about our surroundings and think about what the situation might lead to in the future and that only a little contribution and a positive mindset of staying on your road to the path to your goal might change the world one day. Truly, it was a miracle from God that day.

The word SWIMMING came from a Dutch word SWIM which means to be on motion. It's one of the best workouts, where we need to move our whole body while swimming. It can be practiced by a single person or a group of persons forming a team. The earliest evidence of swimming dates back to the stone age around 10,000 years . Swimming as an individual sports event and a team event was included in Olympics in 1896.
Swimming is very essential not only as an exercise but as a life saving measure where not only one can save one's life but also rescue others in natural calamities like flood and other accidents in the water bodies.
There are 4 strokes in swimming:
1. Front crawl ( free style)
2. Breast stroke
3. Back stroke
4. Butterfly
Some of famous Indian swimmers whose life history motivated me are Sajan Prakash, Shikha Tandan and Virdhawal Khade .
During my summer vacation our school organized extra sports coaching classes. I opted for SWIMMING. A few of my classmates were there. Our trainer Madam was too friendly. So I enjoyed the whole coaching session. Within a short period I came into recognition. Hardly within a fortnight I could learn free style and back stroke, for which I got appreciation from my coach .From that day I made swimming as my favorite sports event.
To be successful in any field, practice is the key . Swimming is not an exception to it . It is rightly said by Jordan Wilimovsky ," Confidence comes from what you do in practice every single day. So you have just got to let your SWIMMING do the talking and have fun ."
Yes I will practice, practice and practice.
