PERFECT TUNES

Ashmanth Anand

We always make mistakes in life and we feel guilty about it. But only mistakes make us achieve perfection. However, it needs a small key to unlock the door i.e, practice. Now I am going to introduce my best pal  Mr.Violin.To make him my friend , I had to first make him happy  do you wonder what It means? Well, he is a little grumpy when I don’t play the perfect notes on him. After all he is the great son of Shruti, mattha Layam pitha.

Let me continue further. I had to earn his trust by engaging him   in exploring the finger board it was then the bow met the strings. From day one it was a wonderful example of sculpture.

Just as he chisels a huge rock into a perfect statue I learnt to tune the violin to bring a fusion  with the bow and strings .It took 7 days  of continuous practice  to reach the perfect  note which brought my pal  to enjoy  my fingers playing on him. This is the story of my violin who was a stranger in my hands, who later befriended me.

Isn’t it good to be perfect or try to be near perfect in life! A perfect tuning has at last established the everlasting friendship I dream to achieve with my best pal, Mr.Violin.

Ashmanth is a precocious boy of 13 years. He is in Seventh grade. A natural flair in creativity he enjoys his moments in writing short stories, poems in English and Hindi, a bit of sanskrit too. He is a trained carnatic singer and violinist too. He is fascinated towards Quantum physics and loves to explore the mysteries of the universe during his leisure, reading articles and watching videos on the same. A very cheerful and playful boy he is fun to be with.

ALBIDA CLASS SIX
Trishna Sahoo

When it came the Class Vl,
Came with a lot of joy,
After a long gap, meeting my friends
Irrespective of girl or boy .

Lots of fun and amusements we made ,
Our excitement couldn't be kept in a shade .

We were mad to participate
       In as many competitions  ,
Didn't matter what was our position.

Classes were started and
    Classes were finished.
But the memories of all the teachers
In our minds, remained fixed .

Now we will move to class Vll,
             Teachers will be changed ,
We will welcome our new teachers,
            With love and respect unchanged.

The time I spent in class Vl,
            Is worth a lot ,
Oh! My teachers and friends,
In my heart, you all have a special spot.

Trishna  ( Natuni ) , a class VI student of Sai International School Bhubaneswar, born to engineer parents and doctor grand parents is a gifted child. A disciplined and determined learner she is, as a student, family member, speaker, writer and an Odisi dancer. She is blended with traditional and cultural values, spirituality, science and arts. A nature loving girl she has taken reading books and travelling as her hobbies. Her favourite dish is Chicken Biryiani prepared by her mother. Her motto of life is, " NEVER BE A DEFAULTER. " May God bless her.

THE POETRY OF EARTH
Anura Parida

They said, the poetry of Earth is never dead.
The flowers swinging their head,
Beneath the shady trees overhead.
Air as pure as a mother’s love,
Water clear as crystals.
Mountains whiter than the snow.
But something isn’t right, I know.

The pollution trapped the golden view,
The high peaks and the mountains too!
The buildings killing the trees,
The factories turning the air a disease.
Oh! So disheartening it is!

Once there was a time,
When people lay down their life for mother nature trying.
But now time has changed along with us.
We have forgotten,
How precious is mother nature’s love?

This poem is coming to an end,
I hope mother nature does not come to this end.
Let the green echo around!
Let the fragrance of flowers be in the air because….
The poetry of Earth is never dead, they said.
