THE SOUND OF RIVER

Anura Parida

From the river, there was a nice flow,

The water was less because the flow was slow.

I wore a pair of clogs,

But it got stuck in the bog.

I heard the sound pitter-patter,

Then I realized it was from the

Flow of water.

The water twirl everywhere

But can save lives

If we will take little care.

I went towards the sound,

But nothing except water found.

DREAM CATCHER

Anura Parida

It was Diwali vacation and Aliya was gifted a dream catcher. She always hangs it beside her bed and slept. She always dreamt that she will go to a fantasy world and where she can communicate with each living beings over there. One night when she was sleeping she had a dream that she was in a fantasy world on a little island. But suddenly the island began to float and Aliya got scared. Then a voice called out to her and she noticed that the island was 200-years-old tortoise.

It seems the tortoise was waiting for someone like her to talk. Then Aliya introduced herself and the tortoise introduced himself and soon they became friend. On being asked the cause of his floating on water since so many times the tortoise told one of his story. Aliya got excited and sat comfortably on the neck of the tortoise with some balloons. Then the tortoise started his story. “My great grandfather, once had a race with a hare and won the race. I also decided to proof that I am stronger than my great grandfather. So, I have decided to compete with Story the mightiest animals like elephant.

One day a huge elephant came to drink water, but accidently he slipped into the water. There I had got a chance to proof myself. But when I tried to push the elephant, I felt he was so strong that I couldn’t move even his feet as his feet was firmly hold the ground like the roots of a big tree and his body was so heavy as it holds the buildings, houses, factories, animals, etc. on his back. Then I decided to give up and realized my mistake. I hope you will also not be proud like me and always be yourself.

Then suddenly Aliya heard someone calling her from the window. “Aliya, wake up don’t you want to go to play in the park?” It was her friend Riya. Though Aliya’s dream was broken midway but she was happy that she had gone to a fantasy island and communicate with a tortoise which she always dreamt for.

WIND IS A FRIEND

Wind is what we all depend
If there is wind, there is no end

Which makes me feel that it is a Friend

With paper windmills children play and run
Where they have a thrill
And Yes, they will !
