The world is going through a pandemic that has no precedence. Our morale is down, and we are drawing from our spiritual and creative strengths and energy to sustain ourselves through these tough times. Women have innate abilities to sustain through problems, as they have always multi-tasked and have managed physical and economic challenges with grit and resilience. We believe that it is imperative at this juncture, to share our experiences and draw strength from each other…

We, therefore, decided to organize this Poetry Webinar – Connecting Across Borders to meet fellow women poets and hear their collective voices of strength and confidence to comfort each other. The experiences of these difficult times have further toughened our resolve to carry on regardless of what lies ahead. Reading our works here and listening to each other’s voice, we believe, will further give us the much-needed moral courage, fortitude, and hope to meet the challenges ahead. Come, let’s hear, let’s read, let’s enjoy and let’s learn from these powerful voices of contemporary women poets!
