SITA’S NUPTIALS, A FLORAL DECORATION
SITA’S NUPTIALS, A FLORAL DECORATION
(Bibhushana Pushpe)
(As translated by Prahanjana K Mishra from Original Translation by DrBCNayak Link - http://positivevibes.today/article/newsview/173 )
“Let the lovely bride
be ready for the occasion.
Bedeck her with flowers,
burnish her with gold.
Let her complexion
rival the paddy blossoms.
Lead her to offer her prayers
at the exalted feet
of lord Ganesh
before garlanding Ram,
making him her proud husband”
urges Kaushika.
The words of the sage
suffuses Ram, the Raghuvanshi,
with a heavenly joy,
as does the cool and fragrant
sandal paste
soothing excitements.
“This bride, who would walk
her wedding ramp now,
is my little Sita,
‘daughter of the tilled earth’,
name to match her origin
in the midst of a furrowed field.
Her comely charm
enchants the eyes of onlookers,
with the feel of a holy dip.
Her birth has ordained
the primal seedling of love.”
is what the august gathering gathered
from the soliloquy
of her happy father.
